Seidensticker Business Kent profile — premium shirt since 1919
Seidensticker was founded in 1919 in Bielefeld as a family shirt factory and is today, in the third generation, one of the best-known premium shirt brands in DACH. The brand produces in own facilities in Europe (Germany, Poland, Turkey) and in certified partner factories in Asia. Memberships: Better Cotton Initiative, Fair Wear Foundation. The premium fabric is based on double-twist cotton yarn (two twisted threads instead of single yarn), which significantly raises durability and non-iron behaviour over mass-market shirts.
The Business Kent is the standard shirt line for corporate occasions. Kent collar (classic English cut with 7.5 cm collar height), non-iron certified per DIN 53891, single-row placket with six mother-of-pearl-effect buttons. Regular Fit Business Kent — the classic cut
The Regular Fit is the classic shirt cut with normal sit: straight cut, loose freedom of movement, no tailoring at the waist. Sizes 38–50 (neck circumference in cm), standard back length 67–70 cm. The typical pick for managing directors, senior partners in consultancies and older board members. Available in long-sleeve (1/1) and short-sleeve (1/2) variants. Premium fabric of 100 % cotton double-twist.
Shaped Fit Business Kent — the modern middle cut
The Shaped Fit is the most-ordered variant in the DACH banking and consulting world. Slightly more body-hugging than Regular but not as tight as Slim — the right pick for middle management and customer-success teams in banks and consultancies. Sizes 37–46, slightly tailored at the waist with darts on the back. Available in 1/1 and 1/2 variants.
Slim Fit Business Kent — the slim variant
The Slim Fit is very body-hugging and slim-cut — ideal for younger employees, marketing teams and tech companies with premium branding ambition. Sizes 36–45. We do not recommend Slim Fit for employees with BMI above 28 (because of placket tension). Available in twill and Oxford finishes.
Kent Women — the women's blouse to the shirt set
The Seidensticker Kent Women is the direct women's variant of the Business Kent — same premium fabric, same Kent collar, but with a women-specific cut (bust darts, slightly tailored back, shorter back length). Available in Regular Fit and Slim Fit, sizes 34–48. The Kent Women blouse is a mandatory component of any mixed corporate crew order — a female employee in a men's shirt simply does not fit.
Premium fabric and non-iron certification
The Seidensticker premium fabric is based on 100 % long-staple cotton double-twist — two twisted yarns per thread, which doubles the tear strength and significantly raises crease resistance. Non-iron certification per DIN 53891 guarantees that the shirt does not need ironing even after 50 washes at 60 °C — hang-drying is enough. This feature has concrete value in B2B onboarding: employees do not need to send the shirt to the dry cleaner, which adds up to a noticeable cost saving over a 12-month onboarding lifecycle.
Fabric density 130 gsm, weave twill in two-to-one binding, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. The pastels and light-blue tones are colour-fast after 60 °C wash. Embroidery on Business Kent — position, size, Pantone match
Embroidery is the only sensible finishing method on premium shirts. Print (DTG, DTF, screen print) looks cheap on shirt fabric and is not corporate-compatible. The embroidery should be subtle — a banking or consulting customer wants no advertising-shirt standing, but a premium shirt with subtle brand identification.
Embroidery position and size
Standard position: left chest, maximum 7 × 7 cm, just above the placket extension. That is the sweet spot for a banking logo or a consulting logo in two-colour execution. We recommend embroidering the logo in two colours in Pantone brand colours — Madeira Classic Rayon thread delivers the most brilliant Pantone approximation. For board shirts or hostess-crew variants, subtle single-colour embroideries in anthracite or navy on white shirt fabric are the premium look.
Setup cost and Pantone match
Setup per logo €25 one-off (digitisation). Pantone match via our Madeira Classic Rayon to Pantone conversion table, alternatively Polyneon thread for 60 °C wash safety. At 1,000 stitches per square centimetre standard, a typical banking logo runs at 4,000–6,000 stitches — that is the sweet spot for clean detail reproduction.
Multi-position embroidery
On request we add a second embroidery on the right sleeve (e.g. "customer success" as function) or a personalised first-name embroidery on the cuff. The second position costs an additional €4.50 per piece. This multi-position variant is a popular premium variant in banking (private-banking crew) and consulting (engagement-manager crew).

Standard lead time 7–10 working days including finishing and DHL EU shipping. Setup day one, embroidery day two to four (depending on embroidery machine load), shipping day five to seven. Are the shirts really non-iron?
Yes, non-iron certification per DIN 53891. After a 60 °C wash and hang-drying the shirt is directly wearable in 95 % of cases. For very high crease ambition (board meeting, TV appearance) we still recommend a brief steam iron — non-iron means "not necessarily ironed", not "not ironable".
Which Pantone colours can be embroidered?
All Pantone Solid Coated colours can be approximated via Madeira Classic Rayon and Polyneon thread ranges. Is Kent Women available in Slim Fit?
Yes, Kent Women is available in Regular Fit and Slim Fit — both in sizes 34–48. Slim Fit Kent Women is popular for tech-conference hostess crews and marketing teams; Regular Fit Kent Women for classic banking and consulting reception teams. Both fits are combinable in the volume tier.
Can we reorder the embroidery in the same Pantone variant after 12 months?
Yes. Logo files are stored for 24 months, including the Pantone thread mapping. On follow-up the embroidery runs in identical Pantone match on identical Madeira thread. Even across multi-year corporate-identity refreshes, brand colour consistency is preserved.
Are the shirts available in organic quality?
Seidensticker has a sustainable line with GOTS-certified organic cotton, but not for every Business Kent model. We can check on request whether your desired fit-colour combination is available in the organic line. For strict organic ambition in the shirt segment we alternatively recommend B&C Inspire premium shirts with GOTS organic mix.
